CAP CITY ATHLETIC 1847

Welcome to Cap City Athletic 1847

About the Club

Cap City Athletic 1847 is a 501(c)3 non-profit youth sports organization based in Lansing, MI.  Cap City was founded in 2014.  We are committed to enhancing each player’s soccer and youth sport experience at every level and age of play. Through innovative soccer programming, player development opportunities, and a focus on player, parent and coaching education, Cap City creates an environment for more than 700+ players and 25+ coaches to grow on and off the field.

As the largest club in Lansing, Cap City is proud to offer programming from 3 years old through amateur adult soccer teams: Mini Kickers, Kickers, Juniors, MMYSL, DA, MSPSP, NLC, and Women's Amateur teams.  We also serve our greater Lansing community with multiple community outreach programs each Fall, Winter and Spring.  Cap City strives to improve the quality of life for our players, families, and community through the game of soccer.

Training and Club Programs

Goal Keeping

Cap City Athletic’s Goalkeeper Program is directed by Stacy DeLonge. In the past 10+ years, Stacy has worked with and trained 20+ goalkeepers who have gone on to have college careers – 10 alone in Division 1 and many more who have had stellar High School Varsity careers as well.

Our GKs train multiple times per week depending on age and experience.

Technical Training

Cap City will offer technical training during each outdoor season. Each team will have two team training nights and the third night will be a combination of technical training, functional training, and other performance development topics.

Community Service

All of our players are asked to participate in community service projects in the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons.

We pride ourselves on focusing on total player development.  These opportunities are character building moments.  We want all of our players to be positive community members.

MSU Ball Kids, MSU Club Days, National Team Club Days

Designed to offer our youth players an opportunity to watch, learn, cheer, enjoy, or participate with the game of soccer at the next level.

We focus on our relationships with current college players and teams, current national teams and players, and professional players and teams.  We want our players to become fans of the game, learn from and look up to heroes (on and off the field), and then try to mimic and celebrate those players on the field while they play.
